From Nairobi by Road: The distance from Nairobi to the Masai Mara is approximately 270 kilometers and takes around 5–6 hours by road. You can hire a private vehicle or take a guided tour that includes transportation to the safari lodge.
From Arusha by Road: Arusha, Tanzania, is about 280 kilometers from Serengeti National Park. The drive typically takes 6–7 hours, depending on the route and stops for sightseeing.
By Air: For a quicker option, you can take a domestic flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to various airstrips close to the Masai Mara or Serengeti, such as Keekorok or Seronera airstrips. Flights are approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, followed by a short transfer to your lodge or camp.
By Train: If you prefer a scenic train journey, you can take the Nairobi–Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to Voi or Mtito Andei, followed by a transfer to nearby parks such as Amboseli or Tsavo. Transfers can be arranged through safari operators.
Nearest Airports: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania are the primary gateways for international travelers. From there, connecting flights or road transfers to safari destinations can be arranged.
