Depart and head to the base hotel to rejoin your safari driver guide then to the Rift Valley, Lake Elementaita. Drive via Thomson Falls + Detour of the falls.

How To Reach

To reach some of the most iconic safari destinations in Kenya, here’s how you can get there:

  • Maasai Mara National Reserve: From Nairobi, take the A104 highway towards Narok. It’s a 5-6 hour drive from Nairobi, or you can opt for a flight to the Mara from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Alternatively, you can hire a 4x4 vehicle for the drive.
  • Amboseli National Park: Amboseli is about 240 kilometers from Nairobi, approximately a 4-5 hour drive. You can also opt for a flight from Nairobi to the park’s airstrip.
  • Lake Nakuru National Park: From Nairobi, it’s about a 2-hour drive (160 km) via the A104 highway. You can also fly directly to the park’s airstrip.
  • Tsavo National Park: Tsavo is located roughly 300 kilometers from Nairobi. You can either drive for about 5-6 hours or take a direct flight to one of the park’s airstrips.
  • Aberdare National Park: Located about 150 kilometers from Nairobi, you can reach Aberdare in about 3-4 hours by car via the A2 highway. Alternatively, there are flights available to the nearest airstrips.
  • Samburu National Reserve: Located in northern Kenya, Samburu is around 350 kilometers from Nairobi, and it typically takes about 6 hours to drive. Alternatively, you can fly from Nairobi to the reserve’s airstrip.
  • Lake Naivasha: A 1.5-hour drive (about 90 kilometers) from Nairobi, you can take the A104 highway or arrange for a flight to the nearby airstrip.
  • Mount Kenya: Mount Kenya is about 150 kilometers from Nairobi. You can drive for approximately 3-4 hours or take a flight to the nearest airstrip.
